On Track - single

Parisian indie artist Dimitri von Büren unveils his new vibrant tune, "On Track,". This song is the result of the artist’s diverse influences, ranging from indie with jazzy undertones to Afrobeat inspired by Fela Kuti, and even touches of flamenco, particularly present in the introduction. The result is a unique and captivating sonic experience. With "On Track," Dimitri invites us on an eclectic musical journey, driven by powerful rhythms and bold arrangements, where groove, acoustic guitars, and brass (trumpets) take center stage.

This track explores universal themes such as the pursuit of dreams, resilience in the face of adversity, and belief in love. It serves as an anthem of hope and perseverance. The English lyrics encourage listeners to never lose faith, always rise again, and continue believing in themselves and the future, no matter the obstacles.

For the composition and production of this single, Dimitri von Büren brought together a collective of talented musicians who regularly accompany him in live performances: William Atkins on bass, Clément Molinié on trumpet, and Bruno Gadiot on drums, (other instruments in the track are played and recorded by Dimitri von Büren himself). Mixing and mastering was entrusted to Dutch sound engineer Mark Hoeksma.

Children of the Stars - SINGLE

Through both nostalgic and romantic lyrical signature, the song echoes with the self-questioning period we’ve all went through during 2020 Covid-19 lockdown. ‘The desire to flee from cities’ turmoil while dreaming of an unreachable love and head in the stars.’ The song results in a mix of pop/funk influences (Parcels, Jungle) and psychedelic/indie soundscapes (i.e. Tame Impala, Mac Demarco, Connan Mockasin), all wrapped with Von Buren’s melodic and vocal imprint. A video clip of the song has also been released on YouTube.

Shining bright - single

Dimitri von Büren’s 3rd single realese.

Press:

Obscure Sound (US) - “Dimitri von Büren’s third single “Shining Bright is a delight. The Paris-based artist, who impressed earlier this year with the single “Days of Dream,” again shows a suavely successful aesthetic here — touching on aspects of pop and spacey classic-rock. The vocal presence exudes a confident, melodic presence, reminiscent of Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos. Smoothly melodic guitars and vocals front the first few sections. A tender guitar solo starts around 02:30, seamlessly leading back into Dimitri’s moody croon. “Shining Bright” is another impressive release from Dimitri von Büren.”

Days of dream - Single

Press:

  • Obscure Sound (US) - “The latest track from Paris-based artist Dimitri von Büren, who impressed with “Moonlight Confession” last year, “Days of Dream” showcases the artist’s confident vocal lead and hypnotic vein of hook-friendly songwriting. From the spoken-word suaveness around the three-minute mark — which reminds of Pulp — to the more lounge-y vocal yearnings in the verses, the lead provides ample versatility in addition to the instrumental backing — where guitars, organs, and steady rhythms succeed. Chalk “Days of Dream” as another success for this promising artist.”

  • CMC Studio (FR) - “It's in this folk guitar and retro image atmosphere that Dimitri was able to feed our heart's desire. Because yes, we need, and especially for the coming holidays, this nostalgic and sunny atmosphere. This second single, with its retro live tunes in the sound, takes us on a journey to the memory of summer love... a hint of Grease with an efficient and original melody... Yes, we will listen to Dimitri at the seaside this year... To be discovered and let yourself be carried away.”

  • Gobsmag (NL) - “Dimitri von Buren, that sounds German, doesn't it? We thought so too. But Dimitri is from France and sounds quite American. Anyway, song Days of Dream is a slow burner. Chill pop, bedroom pop. With a slightly 80's sound. In short, we like it a lot! After Moonlight Confession this is Dimitri's second single. We sincerely hope that he continues this line!”

Moonlight Confession - Single

Press:

  • Come Here Floyd (US) - ‘Moonlight’ is the beautiful production from French-based DIMITRI VON BUREN. The debut ‘self-produced’ single injects the perfect amount of jazz-rock to the format. This solo project of his, comes off to us, as delectable as your girl’s loving look, even though you don’t deserve that kind of affection. The bedroom-pop single is only the start for Dimitri, as he’d stated. We can’t wait for such delicious productions, which add significant conversations to the musical Universe.

  • Obscure Sound (US) - “The Paris-based artist impresses with jangly, fluid guitar work and accompanying spacey synth flourishes. Tonal shifts maintain the captivating quality, ranging from a Talking Heads-like presence in the hooks to more subdued moments of beauty, like the interlude just past the two-minute mark. Scenic and melodic, “Moonlight Confession” is a success.”

  • Efflorescence Culturelle (FR) - “One of the most beautiful discoveries of the month, recalling the accents of what could have been his influences: Ariel Pink, Kurt Vile or the Beach Boys.”
